Musk criticizes Trump’s support of Bondi in the Epstein issue: ‘Simply make the files public as promised’

Musk slams Trump defense of Bondi on Epstein controversy: 'Just release the files as promised'

On Saturday, tech billionaire Elon Musk criticized President Trump’s defense of Attorney General Pam Bondi regarding her handling of cases associated with the controversial financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Musk responded late Saturday to a post from another X user who had captured Trump’s statement on his platform. Musk commented, “This is on the run for the worst post ever made.”

“Seriously,” Musk added, echoing his discontent with Trump’s remarks. “He mentioned ‘Epstein’ but asked everyone to stop discussing him.”

“We’ll just release the files as promised,” Musk stated.

Shortly after, Musk reacted to another post that referred to Trump’s weak point in the Epstein matter, criticizing the president for claiming he would release files during his campaign while downplaying the issue’s significance.

“This is a very big deal,” Musk said. “If thousands of children are abused, and the government possesses evidence of the abusers, but those abusers face no consequences, do we not live in a dire situation?”

Earlier that day, Trump had published a lengthy defense of Bondi on social media, following a Justice Department memo released on Monday that concluded there was no indication of foul play in Epstein’s death, which had been ruled a suicide.

Yet, segments of Trump’s supporter base expressed their anger towards Bondi.

Trump reaffirmed his support for Bondi and urged, “Let Pam Bondi do her job.” He seemed to suggest that political adversaries were fabricating issues surrounding the Epstein case, and that the outrage expressed by some MAGA supporters was, in part, fueled by longstanding critics of his administration.

He questioned, “For years, why are we promoting files from Obama, Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the so-called criminals of the Biden administration? They used these documents against me, and now my so-called ‘friends’ have them.”

Trump added, “If the radical left had something that could harm the MAGA movement, why haven’t they released the Epstein files?”
