Megyn Kelly and MAGA figures criticize Pam Bondi regarding Epstein documents

Controversy Surrounds Attorney General Pam Bondi

A growing number of Maga supporters, including Megyn Kelly, are voicing their dissatisfaction with Attorney General Pam Bondi in light of the Jeffrey Epstein files, despite President Trump’s vocal support for her.

During the Turning Point USA Summit in Tampa Bay last Friday, Kelly defended Bondi while still levying strong criticisms against her. This criticism continued even after Trump publicly expressed his backing.

“I guess it must be comforting for Pam Bondi to know the president is still on her side,” Kelly remarked on social media.

However, she added, “Unfortunately, that’s not the case for our party’s major players. Bondi seemed to misunderstand Epstein repeatedly and failed to clarify her stance afterward.” Kelly noted that Bondi appeared hesitant and less forthcoming when the camera was on her. “Good luck to her!”

Kelly further pondered the situation, stating, “There are really two possibilities here: Either Epstein was never a private figure in the picture, or Bondi didn’t understand it—and Trump just wants to maintain appearances for his loyal supporters.”

Back in February, under Bondi’s direction, the Justice Department provided “Phase 1” of the Epstein files to several MAGA influencers. Critics were quick to point out that much of the information was already public knowledge.

Earlier this year, when asked by Fox News about the possibility of releasing a list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients, Bondi responded, “I’m sitting at my desk right now.” The White House later claimed that she referenced “all papers and relationships related to Epstein.”

A recent release from the DOJ and the FBI indicated there was no evidence supporting the existence of such a client list. Surveillance footage from the night of Epstein’s death in a New York prison was also disclosed, but the absence of some video has fueled speculation of misconduct.

Throughout this debacle, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino publicly disagreed with Bondi and suggested she might consider resigning from her position as AG. Kelly, who has a history with Bongino from their time at Fox News, urged Trump to support Bongino instead.

“Dan is part of the Maga movement. He gets it,” Kelly said during a session with Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

Kelly speculated that Trump may not be paying enough attention to this issue but suggested he should, as it represents “a legitimate scandal” for the administration—one that isn’t simply manufactured by the media.

“It’s concerning, and it’s not going as well as it should be,” she noted. “I do have to put some blame on Pam Bondi,” she continued, criticizing Bondi for not having taken more initiative in addressing the Epstein situation.

Kelly expressed frustration at Bondi’s lack of a press conference on the matter, arguing that her comments contradicted what she had written in a memo regarding Fox News records.

Despite the mounting criticism from various Maga figures, Bondi’s response has been relatively muted. Nevertheless, Trump came to her defense, dismissing the negativity surrounding her leadership.

“Pam Bondy is doing an admirable job,” he asserted, visibly dissatisfied with the ongoing narrative. “Why are we bringing attention to files associated with the previous administration?” he questioned, reiterating that these files had been mismanaged.
