There seems to be a lot going on.
Cierra Ortega, a contestant on “Love Island USA,” recently expressed her feelings about the “Nicolandria” fandom after some past racial slurs led to her being ousted from the villa.
“They are two individuals I care deeply about and truly adore,” Ortega mentioned in an Instagram post on Saturday. “I have always wished for nothing but happiness for both of them during this journey, and that hasn’t changed.”
These comments emerged following her nostalgic post, where she shared “people, moments, memories” from her time in Fiji. She added, “This journey didn’t quite wrap up as I hoped, but those moments brought real connections, love, and growth. There’s still more to come.” At 25, Ortega emphasized her gratitude for the experience.
Ortega’s removal from “Love Island USA” was shared in episode 30, with narrator Ian Sterling explaining she had to leave for “personal reasons.” This left her ex-partner, Vanstenberge, single and at a crossroads.
They had been considered a strong couple in the villa, even having recently “closed” their relationship. Following Ortega’s departure, Vanstenberge chose to explore another connection with Kalten, even though it seemed clear that the chemistry wasn’t there.
In the meantime, after returning home, Ortega posted a video on Instagram addressing her use of the offensive racial slur. She expressed her sincere regret, saying, “I’m deeply, truly sorry, and I never realized how painful those words could be.” She promised to approach her future interactions more thoughtfully, acknowledging the weight of language. “I’m sorry, and if you want to know, I’ll be moving forward differently, I promise,” she said.
