Only 3 percent content with the information about Epstein made public: Survey

A mere 3% of Americans express satisfaction with the information the federal government has shared regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to a CNN/SSRS survey released on Tuesday.

In contrast, half of U.S. adults are unhappy with the information made public. Meanwhile, 29% feel that neither method of communication is an issue, and 17% admit they don’t follow the updates closely enough to form an opinion.

Interestingly, a poll from last week challenged a widely-held conspiracy theory among certain segments of Trump’s supporters. This followed a July 7 memo from the Justice Department, which asserted that Epstein didn’t maintain client lists of notable individuals.

The memo also reiterated findings that Epstein died by suicide in a prison cell back in 2019, countering right-wing claims that he was murdered.

Some of Trump’s most ardent supporters are particularly upset with how the Trump administration addressed the Epstein situation, but dissatisfaction seems widespread, cutting across demographic and political lines.

Republicans are somewhat less likely than Democrats to report dissatisfaction, with 40% versus 56%. Among independents, 52% expressed disappointment with the information released.

Despite this, satisfaction levels don’t vary significantly across party lines. Just 3% of Democrats and independents are satisfied, compared to 4% of Republicans.

Republicans often voice that the issue lies elsewhere, with 38% saying it’s not a problem, while only 27% of Democrats and 26% of independents agree.

Among conservatives, 7% express satisfaction with the federal government’s disclosures about Epstein, in contrast to 2% of both liberals and moderates.

Notably, 66% of liberals are dissatisfied with the information provided, compared to 48% of moderates and 42% of conservatives.

In addition, only 18% of liberals feel that both sides of the information issue are acceptable, contrasted with 32% of moderates and conservatives.

The CNN/SSRS survey polled 1,057 adults from July 10 to 13, having a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
