Dave McCormick praises Trump for securing $90 billion in AI and energy investments for Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania AI and Energy Investments Announced

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump, accompanied by staff and business leaders, unveiled over $92 billion in investments targeted at AI and energy during the first Pennsylvania Energy Summit in Pittsburgh. This event was initiated by Senator McCormick.

Once Trump arrived, McCormick, who was leading the summit, emphasized the significance of the day, urging applause for Trump’s role in catalyzing nearly $90 billion toward Pennsylvania’s energy and AI initiatives.

“What we’re witnessing today is truly historic. Your leadership and commitment are bringing Pennsylvania into the spotlight,” McCormick said. “This summit marks the beginning of creating thousands of local jobs for families across Pennsylvania.”

In his remarks, Trump noted that 20 companies were responsible for the $92 billion investment, with $56 billion focused on energy infrastructure and $36 billion aimed at developing data centers.

“Today is a victory for the Commonwealth and for the entire country. We are achieving what many thought was impossible,” he remarked.

He further stated the importance of continuing to design and build the future in Pennsylvania, specifically mentioning Pittsburgh and the United States.

A White House fact sheet shared details about the investments, including:

  1. Humanity: A commitment of $1 million over three years for cybersecurity education in middle and high schools, along with an additional $1 million for energy research at Carnegie Mellon University.
  2. Black Stone: A $25 billion investment in data centers and energy infrastructure in northeastern Pennsylvania, which is projected to create 6,000 construction jobs and 3,000 permanent positions.
  3. Brookfield: A 20-year contract worth $3 billion with Google, involving hydroelectric facilities that will generate 670 megawatts of electricity and protect approximately 300 jobs.
  4. Capital Power: An investment of $3 billion over ten years to upgrade a gas facility at Chamokin Dam, which is expected to create over 30 full-time jobs.
  5. Constellation Energy: A $2.4 billion investment to enhance the Limerick nuclear power plant, set to create 3,000 jobs annually.
  6. Coreweave: A $6 billion investment to develop a data center in Lancaster, expected to result in 600 construction jobs and 175 operational roles.
  7. Energy Capital Partners: A $5 billion plan for developing a data center at York II Energy Centre, along with 51 community solar projects aimed at serving 24,000 homes.
  8. Energy Innovation Centre Infrastructure Academy: Plans to create a training facility that could impact over 7,000 jobs in southwestern Pennsylvania.
  9. Enbridge: A project to invest $1 billion in expanding its gas pipeline to Pennsylvania over the next six to eighteen months.
  10. Equinor: An investment of $1.6 billion expected to create 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, enhancing natural gas production in Pennsylvania.
  11. First Energy: A $15 billion expansion plan to strengthen grid infrastructure, creating numerous new jobs in Pennsylvania’s counties.
  12. Frontier Group: A $3.2 billion investment to transform a coal power plant into a natural gas facility, anticipating 15,000 construction jobs and over 300 permanent roles.
  13. Ge Vernova: Up to $100 million for expanding a manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania, projected to create 250 jobs.
  14. Google: A new deal with Brookfield related to hydroelectric facilities and a program aimed at providing free training for 1 million small businesses and residents in Pennsylvania.
  15. Homer City Redevelopment: Plans to purchase $15 billion in natural gas, which should support over 4 gigawatts of electricity and create significant onsite jobs.
  16. Meta: A $2.5 million investment to support startups and community training for small businesses.
  17. PA Data Center Partners and Powerhouse Data Center: Plans to develop a $15 billion data center hub near Carlisle.
  18. PPL Corporation: A $6.8 billion investment for expanding and modernizing grid capacity, leading to the creation of 3,400 new jobs.
  19. TC Energy: A $400 million plan to modernize the gas pipeline network in Pennsylvania.
  20. Westinghouse Electric Company: Plans to construct 10 new nuclear reactors by 2030, generating an estimated $6 billion in economic impact and creating 15,000 jobs.

McCormick’s announcement reflects ongoing investments that have been inspired by Renaissance Strap across the United States.
