‘A $3,500 Chastity Belt:’ Apple Vision Pro Buyers Outraged Headset Doesn’t Support VR Porn

The much-hyped Apple Vision Pro headset has arrived, but some early adopters are disappointed that it doesn’t support immersive VR porn out of the box. Apple’s adamant stance against porn on this device led one disappointed pervert to label the headset a “$3,500 chastity belt.”

404 Media report When Apple announced its first VR headset, the $3,500 Vision Pro, many joked that it would be the ultimate device for VR porn. But just a few days after its release, Vision Pro owners are learning the hard way that their current VR porn doesn’t work properly on Apple’s flagship device.

On online forums like Reddit and Discord, Vision Pro buyers are reporting that they are unable to watch stereoscopic 180-degree VR porn videos in full immersion. This headset technically supports his web standard called WebXR, which will allow you to play VR porn hosted on sites like Pornhub. But in reality, WebXR porn clips appear cropped, blurry, or flat in Vision Pro, rather than enveloping the viewer in 3D.

“It’s very bad news for people who want to use it.” [the Vision Pro] Because of the porn,” one disgruntled Reddit user wrote. Some have resorted to clever solutions, such as converting clips to Apple’s USDZ 3D model format or toggling obscure Safari settings, with mixed results.

The discussion thread was filled with excited speculation about the future of VR porn on the device. “Last night of suffering from not being able to see the space between the pixels…Tomorrow marks the beginning of a new frontier in masturbation technology,” one Redditor gushed before the release.

Apple itself has taken a firm stance against pornography, banning it from the App Store and making it harder to find on iOS. So the lack of support for plug-and-play VR porn should come as no surprise to some. “It’s a $3,500 chastity belt,” one commenter scoffed.

Still, the Vision Pro was expected to support WebXR, the web standard used by most VR porn sites. Industry insiders have suggested that sites need time to optimize their libraries for Apple’s Safari browser. But after years of hype, the reality of watching porn on the Vision Pro leaves many adopters perplexed.

For now, initial workarounds are sketchy at best. A passionate community of members compiles spatial 3D clips and shares them on Discord. But true 180-degree VR porn goes beyond the Vision Pro’s capabilities out of the box. One of his Redditors who quit said: We at WebXR want porn. ”
