An Easter egg hunt at a Michigan elementary school went awry after a fight over where to put the eggs turned into a stabbing, authorities said.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to Valley View Elementary School in Battle Creek Saturday morning after receiving a report of a violent assault.
When police arrived, they found a 36-year-old man with a knife, authorities said. Investigators said the male and his female “partner” got into an argument over the placement of the eggs.

“When family members intervened, the man produced a knife and slashed them multiple times,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
Responding officers persuaded the man to drop the knife, and he was subsequently arrested. The victim suffered some lacerations but was expected to recover.
Authorities have not identified the suspect but said he is a Battle Creek resident. He was booked into the Calhoun County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault.
