New Matching Contribution Initiative for Low-Income Workers
A new matching contribution program, known as the Savers Match, aims to support the millions of employees whose employers do not provide retirement plans. This initiative, established under a 2022 law during President Joe Biden’s administration, will start in January.
Under this program, eligible workers who earn less than $35,000 annually could receive a matching contribution of up to $1,000.
Initial details regarding this initiative were reported by the news outlet Semafor.
Interestingly, former President Trump mentioned this concept in a recent speech.
