Accused shooter explains that President Trump's pro-life beliefs did not inspire the attacks.

Investigation into Minnesota Shooting Incident

Vance Bolter, the individual suspected in a shooting spree in Minnesota, claims his pro-life beliefs and support for President Donald Trump were not factors in the violent incident which occurred on June 14, resulting in the death of a Democrat lawmaker and the serious injury of another.

In a series of texts and video conversations, Bolter did not provide a clear motive for shooting four people but insisted that the reasons did not align with public perceptions. He stated, “It wasn’t Trump’s or pro-life views involved,” during a communication from the Sherburn County Jail in Elk River, Minnesota.

Bolter, 57, shared his thoughts saying, “There’s a lot of information coming out in the future where people can look back 24 months and judge themselves,” hinting at further developments he believes will arise.

Facing charges of six felonies including murder related to the death of Melissa Hortman, the former Speaker of the Minnesota House, Bolter is also charged with attempted murder in a separate court.

His comments marked his first detailed statements since the shooting prompted one of the largest manhunts in Minnesota history. The incident unfolded in a particularly bizarre manner, with Bolter reportedly disguised as a police officer, complete with a mask and a vehicle modified to resemble a police cruiser.

During a video discussion, he suggested police may have been withholding important facts regarding a handwritten letter found in a getaway vehicle after the shooting.

He described that the letter might have provided significant context, but indicated that more compelling details were not shared. He expressed concern that it could be destroyed, emphasizing that he had requested the authorities secure it.

Authorities found this letter in a car which Bolter allegedly bought with cash shortly after the shooting. Additionally, police discovered notes inside Bolter’s vehicle listing over 50 Democratic targets and various instructions that suggested a broader plan.

When asked by the New York Post about his feelings regarding the shooting victims and their families, Bolter’s response seemed to bypass direct answers, instead referencing his faith.

He questioned how someone who claims to love God can be involved in such tragic events. It was an odd, distancing statement, perhaps attempting to absolve himself from the emotional weight of his actions.

His wife, Jennifer Lynn Belter, insisted their family had no involvement or knowledge of the shooting, describing her shock and heartbreak in a statement following the tragic events.

Law enforcement apprehended Jennifer near Onamia, Minnesota, with a significant amount of cash and other materials found in her vehicle. Although she has not been charged, her connection to Bolter raises questions.

According to reports, Bolter’s letter also alleged that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had instructed him to target certain political figures. Yet, there was no elaboration from Bolter regarding his views on Walz or his connections to the governor.
