The group, Jewish Voice for Peace, has a history of verbally supporting anti-Israel terrorism and has previously broken into an office building on Capitol Hill.
Large protests are expected at the Parliament building as Netanyahu addresses a special joint session of Parliament at 2pm on Wednesday.
NBC News report On preparing for mass protests:
As the sun set over Washington, D.C., on Monday, the roar of forklift diesel engines was drowned out by the deafening thumping of steel barricades. Despite an unexpected downpour, workers in bright yellow reflective safety vests worked in a well-coordinated rhythm to unload flatbed trucks carrying thousands of metal gates.
The barricades were set up to curb thousands from taking part in a series of violent anti-Israel protests expected to take place at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.
…
The United States Capitol Police (USCP) told The National Desk (TND) on Tuesday morning that they were working urgently to prepare for a possibly unprecedented number of protesters.
Reuters report:
Police said they were expecting a “large number of protesters” and had put extra security in place, but that there were no known threats.
…
A coalition of groups is expected to take part in the protest, including ANSWER (an acronym for “Act Now to Stop the War and End Racism”), the women-led peace and human rights organization CODEPINK, Palestinian groups such as the Palestinian American Community Center, and Jewish groups such as Jewish Voice for Peace.
Code Pink told Reuters that organizers had arranged for buses to bring human rights activists from many states across the country to Washington.
Congressional staff are expected to join the protests, including Democratic Party staff who have been rallying and signing petitions against Israel’s defensive war in Gaza since the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7.
