In a recent discussion, actor Jeff Daniels expressed his thoughts on Republicans who supported Donald Trump, suggesting they might regret their choices financially.
During an episode of Nicole Wallace’s podcast, Daniels remarked on the long-standing influence of Mitch McConnell and their efforts over the past 25 years to reshape the judiciary. “They can see the changes coming,” he noted, emphasizing a more diverse America that values equality and respect. “We’re ready for that,” he added.
He predicted that Republicans might soon find themselves in the minority and expressed hope that those who support Trump are realizing the financial consequences of their decisions. “What’s your plan now?” he questioned them.
Wallace discussed Michigan’s voting patterns, mentioning how Trump secured support again, despite concerns about tariffs and their impact on local communities. “Tariffs will hurt your neighbors,” she stated.
Daniels agreed, suggesting that Trump’s tariffs could significantly affect the incoming president as well. “Those tariffs are damaging,” he remarked.
In the discussion, Daniels pointed out rising grocery costs, like an additional $180 on bills, and highlighted the increased price of cars. “Does that sound right to you?” he asked, reflecting on the public’s challenges with rising prices.
Wallace lamented a perceived decline in common sense around the push for more affordable products, indicating a troubling disconnect in national conversations about costs. “When decency becomes extravagant, we lose something,” she noted.
She questioned whether the expectation of lower prices, like for eggs, was realistic. “Did those cheaper eggs ever really materialize?” Wallace probed.
Daniels responded, admitting that while prices fluctuate, assurances of lower grocery bills have not materialized as promised, ultimately labeling the president a “snake oil salesman.”
Fox News Digital has sought comments from both the White House and Daniels to further clarify these points.
