Actress sports dress featuring embroidered vaginas as apparent protest of restrictions to female rights

Actress Gillian Anderson wore a gown embroidered with female anatomy at Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards ceremony, citing “so many reasons” behind her decision.

“My dress was designed by Gabriella Hearst and it has a vagina,'' says the actor told the deadlineadding that she chose the dress for “so many reasons.”

The Crown and Sex Education star said the ivory Gabriela Hearst dress was “on brand” and later told People magazine that the floral inspiration for the dress was He said he liked it, saying, “It's covered in peonies!” Anderson said it took three and a half hours to embroider each motif on the dress. Ms Anderson told ExtraTV that the gown was a collaboration between her alternative wellness brand G-Spot and fashion label Gabriela Hearst.

“The dress has a yoni on it. If you want to pan down, there's a lot of yonis…The embroidery takes about 150 hours,” she explained.

She did not elaborate on why she chose the vagina-themed dress, but her decision to do so came 18 months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Anderson's sartorial decision drew praise from many, but also disgust from some in social media discussions about X.
