Adams Criticizes Democrats on Maduro Policies
Just two days after sharing a video celebrating his freedom from office, former New York City Mayor Eric Adams expressed his disapproval of fellow Democrats regarding President Donald Trump’s actions towards Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
In his earlier post, Adams was seen enjoying a cigar and bourbon, smiling as he condemned the government for its inefficiencies and predicted a turbulent 2026. However, his message regarding Maduro was much more serious compared to his tone as mayor.
By week’s end, Adams publicly thanked Trump for his decisive action against Maduro, sharply criticizing former Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden for their handling of the Venezuelan situation, especially in light of Maduro’s detention.
“I witnessed how Nicolas Maduro destroyed Venezuela, transforming it into a narco-state. Millions fled, and thousands landed in New York City,” he remarked.
Adams then turned his attention to party leaders, noting that just before leaving office, Biden and Harris raised the bounty on Maduro from $10 million to $25 million.
Harris called Trump’s actions regarding Maduro “certain,” asserting that although Maduro is deemed an illegitimate dictator, this move was both illegal and ill-advised. “The American people are tired of being deceived,” she added.
Adams countered, stating, “Security is not a political game.” He criticized Harris for her shifting stance, arguing that one cannot suddenly view someone as harmless simply because a new president is in office. “That’s both cynical and irresponsible,” he said, alluding to her prior criticisms.
He referenced the ongoing fentanyl crisis in New York, including a tragic incident involving a 2-year-old boy named Nicolas Feliz Dominici, who suffered poisoning while at daycare.
Adams declared that the U.S. is safer now that Maduro is no longer in power and welcomed those affected by these issues to New York.
His remarks starkly contrasted those of his successor, Zoran Mamdani, who opposed Trump’s actions and labeled them a unilateral attack on a sovereign nation, claiming it infringes upon federal and international law. Mamdani emphasized his focus on the safety of all New Yorkers, especially the Venezuelan community in the city.
