Car Accident Involving Miami Hurricane Player
The Lago Police Department has reported that Adarius Hayes, a linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes, was part of a tragic car accident on Saturday that resulted in the deaths of two young children.
According to police, both 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and four-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon were killed after a Dodge Durango collided with a Kia Soul at an intersection around 1:45 PM. While the officers haven’t disclosed the drivers’ identities, several witnesses indicated that some individuals were hospitalized with serious injuries. An investigation is currently ongoing.
Hayes, who hails from Largo, was reportedly hospitalized as well, but details regarding his injuries remain unclear. It’s also not known if he was driving either vehicle involved. Authorities stated that the Kia was attempting to turn left when the collision occurred.
In the wake of the incident, Hayes’ teammates are rallying support for him on social media. Linebacker Raul Popo Aguirre expressed his solidarity with a simple message, “Got You Bro.”
As a true freshman, Hayes had a notable presence on special teams, featuring in 12 games. Throughout the season, he recorded four tackles and made a significant 25-yard interception during a decisive 56-9 victory over Florida A&M. He also participated in the Popturts Bowl against Iowa State the prior season.
Before joining the Hurricanes, Hayes was recognized as one of the top recruits in the class of 2024, earning a consensus four-star rating and ranking as the seventh-best linebacker in the nation according to 247Sports.
