Adina Flores, an activist known for her strong social media presence, has announced her support for Eric Jones, the Democratic candidate running for Congress in California’s 4th Congressional District.
While the endorsement aligns with Jones’ commitment to addressing issues of women’s sexual exploitation, Flores’ online content often presents political matters through a lens of race, sexual orientation, and hidden influences. This raises some uncertainties regarding Jones’ stance, especially since he has previously met with Flores multiple times, as suggested by various social media posts, leading to questions of whether he shares her views.
In a Facebook video, Flores made controversial statements, claiming that Sonoma County is run by a “gay Jewish mafia,” asserting, “The Jews still run the world. That’s where we’re at.” She further mentioned that “all our money gets sent to Israel, but nobody wants to talk about that.”
Flores has also made other incendiary remarks, including one about Jewish people controlling global power through secret societies. Additionally, she took a strong stance against what she perceives as liberal indoctrination in schools, suggesting that parents should withdraw their children to prevent exposure to certain ideologies.
In response to inquiries about Flores’ statements, Jones’ campaign emphasized his rejection of any form of prejudice, particularly towards Jewish and LGBTQ+ communities. A spokesperson remarked, “I firmly condemn any and all hate toward our Jewish and LGBTQ+ communities. It has no place in our district.” They highlighted Jones’ own family ties to Judaism and his advocacy for public education.
Flores’ rhetoric critiques both political parties, claiming they contribute to a divided and misguided political environment. She expressed that her activism emerged from her past as a government worker, from which she says she was ousted due to her opposition to COVID-19 mandates and concerns about misinformation shared with parents.
Jones’ campaign has concentrated on themes of affordability, transparency, and the preservation of government services. His priorities include tackling corruption and ensuring a lower cost of living, drawing support from various progressive organizations associated with figures like Senator Bernie Sanders.
Flores expressed her approval of Jones regarding his commitment to being a voice for survivors of sexual misconduct, especially following the resignation of Rep. Eric Swalwell amid sexual misconduct allegations.
After being contacted by a news outlet, Flores posted a video on Instagram where she dismissed the inquiry, insisting that her opinions reflect her own and convey that she has never been compensated for her political endorsements. “I am highly against the two-party system. If I feel someone is a good fit for office, I support them. F— your gangs! It’s really that simple!” she stated.
