AG Merrick Garland Roasted After Video of Him Leaving DOJ Goes Viral

A video of U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland leaving the Department of Justice (DOJ) to applause and cheers from staffers and other government officials has received massive backlash online.

Garland, who was the last person to leave the Oval Office under the Biden-Harris administration, was congratulated by a long line of department employees on her way out, the Justice Department shared with the X show below.

In the two days since it was posted, the video has received over 9,000 likes and over 12,000 overwhelmingly negative comments.

“He's in jail,” said conservative YouTuber duo the Hodge Twins.

Investigative journalist Sarah Fields likened staff clapping to seal clapping.

The Republican National Committee's (RNC) investigative account responded by calling Garland a “pathetic hack.”

Rep. Byron Donald (R-Fla.) accused the Garland Justice Department of attacking parents, Catholics and political opponents.

“His Justice Department attacked concerned parents. His Justice Department attacked devout Catholics. His Justice Department attacked his political opponents. His Justice Department was weaponized to an unprecedented degree.” wrote the congressman.

“This shameful era of brazen political legalism is finally over,” he added.

Rep. Kevin Hahn (R-Ohio) also wished Garland a “safe removal.”

“Merrick Garland led the evil weaponization of the federal government against the American people,” he wrote. “He caused irreparable damage to the facility. Good for you.”

Jeremy Redfern, press secretary for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, said: “I never thought there would be someone who would do more damage to the credibility of the Department of Justice than Eric Holder, but then Merrick Garland happened.'' ” he said.

Meanwhile, the attorneys general of 20 states dealt with Sent a letter to the Senate requesting confirmation of President Trump's AG nominee Pam Bondi.
