Alaska, a standout competitor from RuPaul’s Drag Race known as Alaska Thunderf** K 5000, recently gained significant attention on social media for remarks made during the LA Pride 2025 event. In his speech, he addressed the ongoing ice attacks across the U.S., labeling them as actions by “terrorist organizations.”
The annual Pride Parade in Los Angeles took place over the weekend, coinciding with a prominent anti-ice protest in the city.
In the viral video snippet, Alaska, who was the runner-up on season 5 of Drag Race, told the crowd, “Ice is a terrorist organization. Humans are not illegal.”
He added, “Pride is an af**king party, but Pride is an af**king riot.”
Trans actor and activist Laverne Cox served as the grand marshal during the World Pride Parade on Saturday, where she openly criticized governmental attitudes and specifically called out President Donald Trump.
When questioned about “the administration’s anti-trans bill” and Trump’s actions, she responded bluntly, “Fuck him.”
These accusations concerning ice stemmed from the Trump administration’s decision to deploy hundreds of U.S. Marines to Los Angeles to support California’s National Guard in response to ongoing riots, which were reportedly showcasing foreign flags.
Defense and congressional sources informed Wall Street Journal that about 500 U.S. Marines would be stationed in the area “to protect federal buildings and personnel” after riots against immigration officials escalated.
Social media has been flooded with videos and images capturing police actions, including looting and rioters throwing rocks at burning vehicles and American flags. Instances of police officers using fireworks were also documented in this chaotic environment.
As noted, protests are now spreading to cities like Dallas and San Francisco.
