‘Almost Any Other Republican Candidate Would Be Winning this Race by 10 Points’

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R-New Hampshire) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that “almost any Republican” other than former President Donald Trump would win the presidential election by 10 points.

Speaking on Fox News, Nikki Haley said, “What Republicans need to stop is stop whining about her. You don’t win campaigns by talking about the size of your rallies. You don’t win campaigns by talking about what race Kamala Harris is. You don’t win campaigns by talking about whether she’s stupid or not. That’s not true. You don’t win campaigns by talking about that.”

“I think I’m entitled to personal attacks. I don’t have much respect for her. I don’t have much respect for her intelligence and I think she’d be a terrible president,” Trump said at a campaign rally.

Host Jake Tapper asked, “Who’s right here: Haley or Trump?”

Sununu said, “In this case, it’s not Donald Trump. Nikki probably won’t point this out because she was the alternative candidate, but just about any other Republican candidate would have won this race by 10 points. So the message is very clear: Stick to the issues, stick to the things that matter, and it should be an easy win for Donald Trump. The difference you’re looking at right now is that Trump is doing about 10 points better among men. But the big shift this August was among women voters. As Frank Luntz pointed out in his poll, he’s down 10 to 12 points, at least among women. Women are going to vote in much larger numbers than they would have if Biden had been the nominee.”
