U.S. Men’s Hockey Gold Medalists Celebrate Olympic Triumph
Dylan Larkin and Zach Werenski, gold medalists from the U.S. men’s hockey team, reflected on their sense of American pride during a recent appearance on “Fox & Friends.” This came shortly after they celebrated their remarkable victory over Canada in Miami.
Speaking on the show, Larkin expressed what it means to don the Stars and Stripes. “I think many of us went through the U.S. National Team Development Program. For two years, we wore the jersey daily, went through training—not military training, of course, but still rigorous. They really instilled a sense of pride in us,” he said. “Every time I get to represent the United States, it’s special. I cherish being home with friends and family.”
Werenski chimed in when asked if playing internationally deepened his pride in being American, saying, “Absolutely. I’ve been to amazing places like Slovakia and Denmark. Each country offers unique experiences. But returning home always reminds me how great America is, and we love wearing our country’s colors.”
He continued, “As Dylan mentioned, we learn about this pride from a young age. Our achievements are possible thanks to our military and first responders. It’s truly the best country in the world, and playing overseas only reinforces that recognition.”
Looking ahead, the U.S. men’s hockey team plans to attend President Trump’s State of the Union address in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday.
