American Psychological Association Policy Promotes K-12 Transgenderism

The American Psychological Association (APA) has adopted a policy statement promoting transgenderism in K-12 schools and condemning child protection laws.

The new insurance policy “expands coverage for medical services tailored to the developmental needs of children, adolescents, and adults who identify as transgender, gender diverse, or non-binary, including psychological and medical “Insurance plans that include gender-affirming care,” the APA said. Said In a press release.

The organization claims the policy is committed to “evidence-based care for transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary children, youth, and adults,” and to restrict such practices. It also claims that this puts people at “risk of depression, anxiety and other negative mental health outcomes”.

“The adoption of this resolution affirms APA’s commitment to promoting inclusion, dignity, and access to quality health care for all individuals, regardless of gender identity or expression,” said APA President Cynthia de las Fuentes. This reaffirms our dedication.”

She added:

This means that states’ bans on gender-affirming care will limit the positive effects of such treatment in reducing psychological distress and improving overall well-being across the lifespan of transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary people. It sends a clear message that it ignores a comprehensive body of supporting medical and psychological research. .

The policy, titled “Policy Statement on Affirming Evidence-Based Comprehensive Care for Transgender, Gender Diverse, and Nonbinary Individuals, Addressing Misinformation, and the Role of Psychological Practice and Science,” was published last week. Approved by APA’s Council of Representatives.

In 2019, the APA began using psychological language, aiming to replace language that refers to biological differences between individuals with “gender-inclusive” terminology, in order to provide a “safe learning environment” for transgender students.
