Americans interviewed by FOX News Digital had a variety of expectations for President-elect Donald Trump's agenda when he returns to the White House, but his response to the economy and inflation stood out the most.
After Trump's victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election, FOX News Digital asked Americans across the country what they would like Trump to do first when he returns to the White House.
One topic that resonated with residents of Texas, Delaware, Michigan, New York, and Washington, D.C., was the economy.
“Spending. Our spending is completely out of control and needs to be controlled,” said Bob from Washington, D.C.

Joe also spoke in Washington, D.C., about the need for President Trump to focus on supporting the middle class and “prices.”
“I hope he improves the economy,” Mr. Austin said in Birmingham, Michigan.
“Probably lower inflation. Like a lot of people, that's why I voted for him,” Naya said in New York City.
Ron of Claymont, Del., also mentioned the economy, specifically helping seniors who are now having to decide between “paying rent and getting the prescriptions they need to survive.”
“I hope he raises Social Security so they can do something,” Ron said.
Americans are also looking forward to what President-elect Trump will accomplish in his second administration. He is the second person to serve non-consecutive terms in the White House, after Grover Cleveland.
“I'm optimistic about what he'll do,” Ray said in New York.

“I would like to see him continue the attitude he showed in his acceptance speech,” Michael said in Birmingham.
Additionally, Michael said the “rhetoric” used to describe President Trump, including “references to Hitler,” is not productive. “Personally, I saw no action other than a conciliatory and sincere attempt to rebuild a country that is great in my eyes and which, frankly, is being shattered by emotion rather than facts. .”
Louis, of Claymont, said the first action he wants from President Trump is to “close the border.”
But there was no pushback, as some expressed concerns about Trump's return to the White House.
“I don't know. Resign,” New York City's Omni newspaper said.
“Well, I hope he retires soon,” Tom said at Claymont.
“Please don't be misogynistic,” Ashley said in Birmingham.

In New York City, Prime Minister Cameron emphasized the importance of Trump “connecting” with the American people as president. “Listen to the people, listen to what the people want, and try to connect more with the American people.”

Mr. Trump returned to power with a landslide victory over Ms. Harris, appearing on the precipice of winning key battleground states by landslides, while also posting impressive results in deep-blue states where he had significantly cut his losses in 2020.
He is also seeking to win the popular vote nationally, making him the second Republican to do so since 1988.
