America's most notorious abortionist, who killed babies born alive, confronts his maker at 85.

Notorious Abortionist Passes Away

Kermit Gosnell, a well-known former doctor from West Philadelphia, died at the age of 85 on March 1st while in prison, where he was serving multiple life sentences for serious crimes, including first-degree murder and manslaughter.

In 2013, Gosnell was convicted in connection with a particularly unsettling series of events. The jury found that he had decapitated a baby who was born alive during an illegal procedure, and he was also responsible for the death of a woman who died while undergoing an abortion at his clinic. Additional charges pointed to several violations related to his medical practice.

According to former employees, Gosnell frequently conducted illegal abortions that went beyond Pennsylvania’s 24-week limit. They reported instances of him delivering a baby that was still alive, indicating it was moving, crying, and breathing. He described his method of killing newborns as “cutting” the spine.

A 2011 grand jury report mentioned that “over the years, there have been hundreds of ‘cuts’.” Unfortunately, many of these cases could not be properly prosecuted because Gosnell had destroyed relevant files.

His clinic earned the grim nickname, the “House of Horrors.”

In 2010, a thorough investigation uncovered that Gosnell was involved in trafficking prescription drugs from his clinic. Authorities discovered disturbing evidence, including bags of fetal remains, bottles with body parts, blood-stained furniture, and unsterilized medical equipment. Consequently, he pleaded guilty to 12 federal drug charges, resulting in an additional 30 years in prison along with a $50,000 fine.

At the time of the raid, state officials had not conducted routine inspections of abortion facilities for 15 years.

Kermit Gosnell was held at the State Correctional Facility Smithfield in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. His death occurred at a hospital outside the prison, with the cause remaining undisclosed as of now.
