Edward Johnson, 57, is an illegal immigrant believed to have come from the Caribbean. Since arriving in the United States, he has been arrested 23 times on charges including gun possession. The report also said 42 more arrests have been sealed since his arrival in the country.
Johnson is now a fugitive from the law after failing to submit to supervised release. And according to his report, he has a habit of attacking female health workers who try to treat him.
“Every time he goes to the hospital, he hits the nurses and doctors,” said an NYPD official.
Mr Johnson has assaulted female healthcare workers on four separate occasions since 2019. Johnson assaulted the victim, Colleen Leahy, on two occasions, in July 2022 and September 2023. The Post reported that Leahy has lost 20 pounds since the September attack and noted that her stomach is full. Anxiety over his possible return.
“I feel anxious every day at work,” Leahy said.
Leahy’s mother, Eileen Leahy, said she was worried that her daughter would be the next in line. Laken RileyRiley was a nursing student from Georgia who was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela. It is unclear how the NYPD is responding to Johnson’s abusive behavior. An arrest warrant was issued last month, but authorities have not yet located the man.
