Analysts caution that Israeli strategies in Iran underscore the dangers of Chinese land acquisitions in the US.

National security and Chinese experts are raising alarms about Israel’s recent assault on Iran, suggesting it highlights the urgency for the U.S. to halt China’s efforts to acquire land and assets within its borders. Reports emerged following an attack on Friday, revealing that Israel had clandestinely set up drone bases in Iran, which were utilized for the offensive. Israeli security officials indicated to the Jewish Chronicle that the weapons and soldiers were smuggled in ahead of time and that this operation was years in the making.

“Just look at how Israel has undermined Iran. Now consider the Chinese companies and assets infiltrating the U.S. power grid, local law enforcement (like DJI drones), and social media platforms (you know, TikTok),” said one expert.

Gabriel Noronha, president of Polaris National Security, drew parallels between the U.S. situation and a recent Ukrainian drone strike that significantly damaged Russia’s air fleet. This operation involved drones smuggled into Russia and released near the airbase. “It’s clear that after Israeli and Ukrainian operations, the American adversaries might try similar tactics on our soil,” Noronha cautioned. “Allowing Chinese businesses to own land, especially near military bases, poses increasing risks. If we’re not careful, we could effectively host clandestine Chinese military installations, which could lead to attacks on our citizens.”

For years, U.S. officials have expressed concerns about China’s strategy to acquire land close to military installations and other crucial assets. Recently, Arizona lawmakers attempted to pass a bill aimed at preventing Chinese companies from owning over 30% of any real estate in the state. Unfortunately, this bill was vetoed by Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs, despite claims that China was looking to lease land near a significant Air Force base in Arizona.

Michael Lucci, founder of State Armor Action— a conservative organization focused on addressing global security threats—warned that unless the U.S. takes decisive action against China’s asset acquisitions, it risks losing the upper hand in potential conflicts. He referred to these land grabs as merely “the tip of the iceberg.”

“While Chinese ownership of land is troubling, it’s only the beginning. Their control over industrial assets and port access is increasingly concerning. Perhaps most alarming is their deep reach into critical infrastructure and government systems,” Lucci remarked.

Jamie Weinstein, a writer and podcast host, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the implications of Chinese interests in American land.
