Antifa members face terrorism charges for the attack on the ICE facility on July 4th.

A federal grand jury has indicted two individuals, linked to Antifa, on charges related to terrorism stemming from an attack on an ICE facility in Texas that occurred on July 4. The indictment, revealed on Thursday, accuses Cameron Arnold and Zachary Evetts of providing material support for terrorism, attempting to murder a federal officer and his aides, and using a firearm during this attempted murder.

FBI Director Kash Patel stated, “For the first time, the FBI has arrested violent anarchist extremists and charged these individuals with material support of terrorism.” He described the incident as a “planned and coordinated terrorist attack” against the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, where armed extremists allegedly aimed to kill a U.S. military officer on Independence Day.

Authorities noted that Arnold, Evetts, and several others took part in an ambush against federal agents at the ICE facility. They reportedly used fireworks to distract staff while destroying vehicles outside the center.

According to the indictment, when police responded, Arnold shouted, “Get the rifle!” As the unarmed correctional officers sought cover, an officer was shot in the neck but managed to return fire. Arnold continued shooting until his weapon jammed, after which the assailants fled the scene.

The indictment follows President Donald Trump’s recent executive order that designated Antifa as a terrorist organization. So far, law enforcement has arrested over 20 people related to this case and its association with the Antifa network. There is a noted uptick in assaults on ICE facilities, reportedly rising nearly 700% compared to the previous year.
