Anti-Semitic violence erupted Tuesday night at a Berkeley, California, city council meeting scheduled to discuss plans to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day in April.
The Jewish Community Relations Council cited the rioters’ anti-Semitic language and posted a video of the riot on X (formerly Twitter).

Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguín condemned Regarding Thursday’s violence, he said: “I am outraged by the hateful and extremely anti-Semitic acts that were witnessed at Tuesday’s council meeting. Heckled people, including Holocaust survivors, and called the message anti-Semitic. Exploitation, intimidation, and hate speech will not be tolerated. We will not be intimidated.”
The University of California, Berkeley, located in the city, has been a hotbed of extremist activity for decades and has become one of the most anti-Semitic campuses in the country since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. There is also.
