AOC and Mamdani encourage 'rogue radicals' — and that is good news for the GOP, according to RNC leader.

Republican Party’s Outlook Amidst Left-Wing Shift

In a recent statement, RNC Chairman Joe Gruters suggested that figures like New York City Councilmember Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Mayor Zoran Mamdani are fostering a wave of “rogue extremists,” which he believes works in favor of the Republican Party.

Gruters anticipates that the Democratic Party will shift so far left that it will effectively position Republicans as the more reasonable choice in the upcoming midterm elections, thus helping them retain control of Congress.

He noted, “The actions of AOC, Mamdani, and others inspire radical left candidates nationwide, and their primary debate will center on who can lean leftest.” His remarks came during an appearance on WABC Radio’s “Cats Roundtable.”

Gruters asserted that the radical left boosts Republicans, claiming, “We represent reason and common sense, while they seem to have lost touch with reality.” He elaborated on how Republicans plan to “challenge history” in the midterms, where traditionally, the party in the White House faces setbacks.

Reflecting on New York’s political landscape, he remarked, “AOC and Mamdani are the new faces of the Democratic Party,” underscoring their far-left alignment.

However, some analysts are skeptical about whether Republicans can maintain their majority in the House during this fall’s elections. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report has indicated a favorable outlook for Democrats in 18 House districts nationwide, including several in New York.

On a related note, Gruters mentioned that Ocasio-Cortez is contemplating a run for president in 2028. He commented, “She has considerable support, and we anticipate her becoming the Democratic nominee,” adding, “Our candidates would prefer a direct competition against her.”
