AOC Blames Abraham Accords, Jerusalem Embassy, Golan Heights for October 7 Attack

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York), along with anti-Israel commentators this week, blamed the Abraham Accords peace agreement and the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem for the massive October 7 terror attack by Hamas on Israel.

The AOC also agreed that the October 7 attacks were “directly” caused by President Trump’s recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which are not claimed by the Palestinians but were seized from Syria in a defensive war.

The logic seemed to be that, given that the US and Israel were closely allied under then-President Donald Trump and had peace deals with other Arab countries, the Palestinians had no choice but to use terrorism to draw attention to their cause (the same justification has been used for Palestinian terror attacks for half a century, and the cause is widely publicized).
