AOC calls Netanyahu ‘a war criminal’

New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “war criminal” and said he should not have been invited to address a joint session of Congress.

“This man should not be addressing Congress. He is a war criminal and has zero respect for United States laws that are specifically designed to prevent American weapons from fueling human rights abuses. His invitation should be rescinded. He should never have been sent in the first place,” Ocasio-Cortez said. Tweeted.

The congressman made the comments while retweeting a video in which he said Prime Minister Netanyahu told Secretary of State Antony Blinken that it was “inconceivable that the Administration would have withheld arms and ammunition from Israel over the past few months.”

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre Said He said the administration “doesn’t know what it’s talking about” and that only one shipment of munitions had been halted.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) have invited Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress, which he is scheduled to do on July 24.

New York Republican Rep. Anthony D’Esposito responded to Ocasio-Cortez’s post: Tweet“Please send your tickets to his speech to 1508 Longworth HOB. There are thousands of #NY04 residents who want to hear from the duly elected representative of our diverse, democratic American ally.”
