Apple Set to Release Smart Glasses by 2026

May 22, 2025 – 1:01 PM PDT

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple plans to launch smart glasses at the end of next year. This is part of the company’s strategy to expand its product offerings and enhance interest in its artificial intelligence technologies.

The production of large quantities of prototypes is expected to begin later this year with partners abroad, as noted by sources familiar with the situation.

Apple has not yet provided a comment regarding this information.

This move into wearable tech follows a tepid response to Apple’s Vision Pro headset, which struggled to gain traction partly due to its significant price and limited AI capabilities.

The upcoming glasses will compete directly with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which have gained popularity among consumers.

Additionally, reports suggest that Apple has halted plans for a smartwatch equipped with a camera that could analyze its surroundings. Originally, the company aimed to release this camera-enabled Apple Watch by 2027, but those efforts have now ceased.
