Naked Rider Arrested After Climbing Train in Colorado
An unusual incident occurred in Colorado involving a man from Arizona who reportedly broke into a Union Pacific locomotive and was seen riding bare on the train’s roof. Witnesses described the scene as bizarre, and police took him into custody on Thursday.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Ray Ballance from Quartzsite, Arizona, allegedly entered the moving train by breaking a window and then climbed atop it. He now faces both felony and misdemeanor charges linked to this stunt.
Witnesses observed Ballance in the nude on top of the locomotive, and officers arrested him shortly after. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office later shared a photo of him alongside a humorous Facebook post regarding the situation.
In a light-hearted tone, the sheriff’s office conveyed a message to those who witnessed this unusual event, informing them of Ballance’s arrest on the charges mentioned. They mentioned that he has a fondness for “vodka, beer, and playing the banjo,” a curious detail that added some levity to the situation.
“Unfortunately,” they quipped, “we had to separate him from those loves and train rides.” They also noted that he would be spending some time in jail, though he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Ballance was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail, though specific court records outlining the charges have yet to be published. Reports indicate that Ballance allegedly broke a window to enter the train while it was moving, but details about any potential injuries or the cause of the incident remain unavailable.
