Arizona Man Allegedly Kills Parents, Calls 911 to Confess
An Arizona man is accused of killing his parents, reportedly using a hammer and a knife, then confessing during a 911 call. Court documents indicate that 29-year-old Jonathan Turk admitted to the attack on March 31 in Peoria.
Turk called emergency services around 6:29 p.m. and explained that his actions stemmed from anger over being prescribed medication. Following the confession, he stated he would wait outside for the officers, holding a water bottle.
Authorities later discovered a hammer and knife believed to have been used in the attack, retrieved from a trash can inside the house. After his arrest, Turk declined to speak to investigators.
Prosecutors highlighted a concerning history of mental health issues surrounding Turk, with multiple complaints filed by his parents. Records show three complaints were made as recently as 2026.
During a court hearing, prosecutors conveyed ongoing concerns regarding his mental stability.
Neighbors found the incident shocking, though some mentioned feeling uneasy around the Turk family prior to the event. One neighbor recalled meeting the victim, Tina Turk, describing her as kind and normal.
Another neighbor shared feelings of discomfort while encountering Jonathan, noting a “bad feeling” that made him keep his distance.
A friend paid tribute to Fraser and Tina Turk, calling them “two beautiful souls” who exemplified a loving partnership after many years of marriage. This friend expressed heartache over the loss and described the couple as a model of kindness and dedication.
Jonathan Turk faces charges of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder. His bail has been set at $2 million cash, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 9.
The Peoria Police Department has been contacted for further comments regarding the case.
