An Arizona man is dead after a disagreement escalated in a Taco Bell parking lot, police said.
According to Surprise police, on Sunday, February 11, around 1:30 p.m., 24-year-old Adrian Garduno pulled out a gun in the taco chain’s drive-thru line.
Police said the argument escalated and Garno got out of his car during the drive-thru, pulled out a firearm and approached another vehicle.
The 24-year-old also pointed a gun at the occupants of the other vehicle.

Authorities said another person in the drive-thru line pulled out his own gun and struck Garduno “multiple times.”
Police said when they arrived at the scene, Garduno was found and pronounced dead.

Police said the adult male who shot Garduno remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
He was later released without charge.

“This investigation will be forwarded to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution,” police said.

Police used the opportunity to remind the community that if a collision occurs it is “best” to leave the scene.

“We would like to remind the community that if a collision occurs, it is best to leave the scene if possible and call police,” police said. “Escalating conflicts, whether in a car, in a public place, or even close to home, can have life-altering consequences. By withdrawing from the conflict, you can protect yourself and your loved ones. It can save lives.”
