Arizona State star Cam Skattebo sued by former teammate over golf cart incident

The Arizona star runs Cam Scattebo. He is sued by his former teammate.

Scattebo has received a civil complaint on behalf of his former teammate, Walk-on offensive lineman Matt Theos Catealis. Republic of Arizona.

The incident was reportedly occurred in July 2023 when Scattebo was accused of jumping into the back of a golf cart while practicing soccer, when Catelis fell to the ground and injured his arm.

Catellis ruptures the elbow tendon, which requires surgery, and he says he has not fully recovered, according to his Neil Udrucc.

He added that he was incurred a large amount of medical expenses that he still had outstanding bills.

Because Categalis never played football again and is in pain, Scattebo is sued for one count negligence resulting in injury.

The process server tried to find Scattebo to deliver legal documents, but was unable to do so, and went to the “last resort” that involved publishing the subpoena in a Maricopa County newspaper.

Skattebo was at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last week, and is expected to be a second day selection.

“There's a reason to believe he's in Florida and is preparing for the combine, and then I know he was in Indy. I don't know if he's living in Arizona anymore,” his lawyer told the Republic of Arizona. “Maybe he's bouncing around the hotel. I don't know, so I finished chasing him.”

Scattebo was not asked about the combined lawsuit, but admitted that he was “immature in the past.”

The 23-year-old led Arizona to the NCAA College Football playoff berth this past season.

Scattebo's intense running style was a sight to be seen in the game.

He scored 30 carries for 143 yards and two touchdowns, grabbed eight balls for 99 yards and threw a touchdown with a 39-31 double overtime loss.

He finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy poll.
