Phoenix, Arizona A U.S. Army veteran running for Congress is working doubly hard to save America from “left-wing crazies” who have allegedly “taken over” the country and are “bent on destroying it.”
Abe Hamadeh (33), a Republican and former Maricopa County Attorney running in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, said in an interview with Fox News Digital that a “new generation” of leaders is needed to address the wide range of issues facing the country and that he is determined to be the “warrior” ordinary Americans have been waiting for.
“When I took the oath of office as an Army Reserve Intelligence Officer and served overseas, I took my oath to the Constitution seriously,” Hamadeh said, vowing to “never compromise” on the issues that make America great.
“All I see is our country being taken over by left-wing lunatics who are bent on destruction, and so I think we need a new generation of warriors who will never bow down, who will never surrender, who will never compromise on the issues that made our country great,” he said.

“I think people are looking for courage right now. They know all the issues. Everybody’s looking at the border. Everybody’s looking at the election is on the line. But they’re looking for somebody to go out there and fight and do something.”
Hamadeh has never held public office, but the son of first-generation immigrants from Syria and Venezuela, he has served in intelligence with the U.S. Army Reserves since 2016. He deployed to Saudi Arabia in 2019, where he served in counterterrorism operations after the Pensacola, Florida, terrorist attack carried out by a Saudi Arabian pilot that same year.
He was the Republican candidate for Arizona attorney general in the 2022 midterm elections, but lost to his Democratic opponent by less than 300 votes. The margin was so narrow that a recount, conducted automatically under Arizona law, cut the Democratic lead in half.
Hamadeh unsuccessfully challenged the results in court, claiming that thousands of provisional votes were not counted.

He now says one of the first issues he will tackle as a council member will be election integrity.
“So many people have lost faith in our elections because of the incompetence of election officials, allegations of corruption and people refusing to acknowledge that there were major failures in the administration of our elections,” Hamadeh said of the 2022 elections. “It’s a total mess… The chaos has been terrible and if it’s not addressed and there’s no accountability, it’s going to get worse.”
His plan also includes banning certain outside funds for financing election campaigns and ending ranked choice voting at the federal level.
Hamadeh said the ongoing border crisis would also be a top priority if elected, and he said he wants to work closely on this issue with former President Trump and Arizona Senate candidate Kali Lake if they win the November election.

He grew close with both men throughout his campaign and secured their support early in the primary despite facing off against the better-known Blake Masters, who ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in 2022.
“President Trump and Kali Lake have endorsed me and many other great people because they know it takes a certain mental toughness to get through any political endeavor,” Hamade said. “They just want someone who is unwavering in their beliefs and knows that their support will make our country great. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do if I become a Senator.”
“People want something new and different, and they expect you to get out there and meet people and find out what’s important to them and fight for them — not just give lip service to it. Voters in this district, and especially in Arizona, are desperate for something to be done about the border. They want something to be done about the election. They’re seeing their country being taken away before their eyes, and they want some pushback against that.”

Hamadeh is seeking to replace retiring Republican Rep. Debbie Lesko and is facing a crowded GOP primary field that includes Masters, but he believes the endorsements of Trump and Lake, along with his experience serving the country, will help him win when voters head to the polls.
Analysts have rated a Republican victory as “safe” or “certain,” meaning the winner of the July 30 primary will be the favorite to win the general election in November.
