The two astronauts who have been trapped on the International Space Station for 49 days after the Boeing Starliner suffered a helium leak following its first manned launch have yet to be scheduled for return, officials said.
Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams were scheduled to spend just eight days in space.
But the spacecraft is expected to remain in orbit for the next few weeks, Steve Stich, NASA’s commercial crew program manager, told reporters on a conference call.

Officials said they would be able to return aboard the Starliner spacecraft, but that would be sometime in August.
