On Wednesday, Attorney General Matt Platkin (D) took to X-Post to remind New Jersey business owners that they have the option to designate their establishments as “gun-free zones.”

“The facts don’t lie. Regardless of what you’ve heard, public property owners can display signs on and around the property that prohibits guns,” Platkin stated in his post. Website referring to New Jersey’s “delicate place law.”
The website features two buttons: one for downloading a gun-free zone flyer, and another for business owners to request gun-free zone stickers.

The “Sensitive Places” section on the website details various locations where individuals with concealed carry permits are required to be unarmed for self-defense. Such places include “entertainment venues, recreational facilities, parks, beaches, zoos, alcohol establishments, airports, public transport locations, public gatherings, childcare facilities, medical facilities, long-term care facilities, correctional facilities, and homeless shelters.”
New Jersey’s Sensitive Place Law was enacted by Governor Phil Murphy (D) on December 22, 2022.
