Augusta National Women’s Amateur: Anna Davis misses cut via slow-play penalty

Eighteen-year-old Anna Davis missed out on the Augusta National Women’s Amateur for the second year in a row due to an unfortunate ruling.

Davis, now a freshman at Auburn University, missed the cut by one stroke after receiving a slow play penalty on the 17th hole Thursday.

On a wild day at Champions Retreat, Davis struggled to shoot a 6-over 78, but fell back to 4-over for the tournament. She started the championship with a 2-under 70, but her penalty strokes cost her as 3-over-par served as the cut line.
