Authorities Collected Trash from Ilhan Omar's Residence to Seek Her DNA

Federal investigators are reported to have collected trash from Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) residence in Washington, DC, as part of their search for her DNA linked to a fraud case related to immigration. This development follows a raid on her home conducted by agents from the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) last week, which was authorized by a federal judge.

During the raid, investigators confiscated Omar’s cellphone and issued subpoenas to her family members, focusing on whether she or her father misrepresented her age on her naturalization application.

A report indicates that prior to the raid, investigators gathered garbage from her home in hopes of obtaining DNA evidence:

Sources familiar with the investigation have told that potential DNA evidence plays a significant role in the case surrounding Omar. They believe the investigation is more extensive than the public perceives, particularly considering ongoing accusations regarding her immigration status and marital history.

The inquiry also involves relatives of the congresswoman, and evidence is expected to be presented to a grand jury. Some family members have been mentioned in subpoenas issued by federal prosecutors.

Another report outlines that agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had been investigating Omar for several months prior to the recent raid. For instance, in January, ICE agents reportedly engaged with Scott Johnson from Powerline Blog.

Powerline Blog was among the first to report allegations of immigration fraud against Omar, including assertions that she married her brother to facilitate his naturalization process.

“They asked me questions related to [Omar’s] immigration status and also questions about her father, which seemed to be relevant,” Johnson shared. “From our conversation, it seemed they were exploring the possibility of civil actions leading to her denaturalization.”

In addition to the immigration investigation, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced this week that her office has launched a financial investigation into Omar, potentially building upon a probe initiated by the Biden administration regarding her reported multi-million-dollar net worth.
