Incident at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, President Donald Trump confirmed that Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old from Los Angeles, is the alleged shooter from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Reportedly, Allen left behind a manifesto expressing animosity towards Christians.

In a segment on Fox News’ “Sunday Briefing,” Trump characterized Allen as a “sick guy,” mentioning that the suspect’s family had previously attempted to alert authorities about his radical thoughts.

“When you read his manifesto, he hates Christians—that’s one thing for sure. He hates Christians, a hatred,” Trump remarked.

According to reports, the manifesto was emailed to family members shortly before the attack, and it depicted Allen’s motives as a moral obligation.

“Turning the other cheek when *someone else* is oppressed is not Christian behavior; it is complicity in the oppressor’s crimes,” the document stated, as per a law enforcement source.

Allen’s brother contacted police in New London, Connecticut after receiving the manifesto just minutes before the shooting occurred. Moreover, the document referred to Allen as the “Friendly Federal Assassin.”

It allegedly laid out intentions to target various administration officials, ranking them from highest to lowest, while notably leaving out FBI Director Kash Patel.

Interestingly, the manifesto criticized the security measures at the hotel hosting the event, calling them “insane.”

“Like, the one thing that I immediately noticed walking into the hotel is the sense of arrogance,” it reportedly said. “I walk in with multiple weapons and not a single person there considers the possibility that I could be a threat.”

Officials from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department reported that Allen entered a security checkpoint armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and several knives. During the confrontation, a Secret Service officer was struck in the chest but was protected by his ballistic vest.

Allen is anticipated to face charges in federal court on Monday for assaulting a federal officer and attempting to kill a federal official.
