Banks to restart 21+ policy on Fridays and Saturdays in public plaza area

The age-restricted policy that was enacted last year at The Banks in downtown Cincinnati is making a comeback. Officials have announced that a 21-and-over restriction will be in place in the public plaza during late-night hours on Fridays and Saturdays. This public plaza is situated between Freedom Way, Joe Nuxhall Way, Marian Spencer Way, and Walnut Street. It’s important to note that the sidewalks of Great American Ball Park and Joe Nuxhall Way fall outside this plaza and, therefore, are not subject to these restrictions.

Last year’s rules stipulated limitations from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and there has been a noticeable increase in security and ID checks since then. The Banks is dedicated to fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone—residents, visitors, and workers alike. To support this goal, the 21-and-over policy will be enforced in the plaza during those late-night hours to promote a more regulated and secure environment.

This strategy is part of a broader safety plan for the area around The Banks, which is being coordinated in collaboration with the city of Cincinnati and local law enforcement. Officials have stated, “We will continue to assess these efforts to ensure that The Banks remains a lively and safe destination for residents, visitors, and businesses.”
