More than £245,000 of banquet frozen chicken strip appetizers have been recalled over concerns they may contain plastic after consumers reportedly suffered oral injuries after eating the product.
Based in Missouri Conagra Brand Announces Recall Banquet chicken strip meal £245,366 with expiry date 11 December 2024. January 1, 2025. Or Jan. 7, 2025, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Saturday.
According to the agency’s website, “The issue comes after the company received complaints from consumers that the chicken strip portion of the product contained plastic and caused oral injury associated with the consumption of this product. was discovered when it notified FSIS.”
Meals produced on June 20th, July 11th, and July 17th of this year have an establishment number of “EST.”
Items that needed to be discarded or returned to the place of purchase were shipped to stores nationwide and sold online, FSIS said.
There were no other reports of injuries or illnesses, officials said, adding that consumers should contact their health care provider if they feel unwell or hurt.
Earlier this year, Conagra Brands recalled about 2.6 million pounds of canned wiener sausages and poultry products over concerns that packaging issues may have caused contamination.
