One video on social media appeared to portray a group of baristas uprising over President Donald Trump’s deportation policy, but it only lasted for a few minutes.
The latte player was organized by a union of Starbucks workers who took a five-minute break from Starbucks and showed their opposition to Trump’s promise to massive deportation of illegal American aliens, and who specifically opposed the arrest of Turkish citizen Le Mesa Ozturk.
“Members of Starbucks workers are in solidarity with immigrants and Indigenous peoples.”
This video showed about 20 workers at several Starbucks locations walking out of work before returning in a few minutes. it was Posted Social media has gained millions of perspectives.
Posted by one Starbucks union statement on our Instagram page about the protest.
“Participation of Starbucks workers, regardless of where they were born, are solidarity with immigrants and Indigenous people. Anyone who enters our store is a member of our community, including immigrants from all occupations.
“Immigration is the foundation of our current labor movement, and their sacrifices helped us win the rights and protections of all workers,” the statement continued. “In this pivotal movement in history, the American labor movement must stand together to support these important members of our society.”
Ozturk’s visa was revoked by the Trump administration and while she was walking down the street she was arrested by a mediocre officer. Many on the left claim that she violates her right to free speech.
“If you say that the reason you’re entering the US and applying for a visa to become a student and coming to the US is not just because you want to write OP-EDS, but also because you want to take part in moves like destroying the university, harassing students, taking over buildings, creating racks, etc., we won’t file a lawsuit against you.
CNN analysis of polls over the past decade showed that Americans are far more concerned with the negative outcomes of illegal immigration. In November, Zillow’s CEO suggested that the presence of millions of illegal aliens is exacerbating the housing crisis.
