Bears’ Defense Dominates Jets in 23-12 Victory

The Bears continued to make a statement against the Jets long after the final whistle. Linebacker Devin Bush took a jab at the Jets following Chicago’s 23-12 win, referring to the game as “one of the easiest NFL games I ever played in.”

During the match at Soldier Field, the Bears defense had a comfortable outing, as the Jets possessed the ball for a mere 17 minutes and managed just 32 plays throughout the game. This left plenty of time for Chicago’s defense to catch its breath.

Reflecting on the game, Bush expressed his enjoyment of the situation, where the offense held the ball for an impressive 42 minutes. “It’s fun, man,” he remarked to reporters. “We’ve got to get ourselves into more situations like that. You see they’re capable of some great things.” He also noted, “Probably one of the easiest NFL games I have played in. I’m not sore at all. So it was great.”

But Bush didn’t stop there. He admitted to feeling a bit dull on the sidelines, stating, “It was boring. I got bored. A couple of times. I had to stay warm just in case.” He acknowledged a few moments where the defense needed to step up, which kept the intensity alive.

The Jets’ performance was, by all accounts, disappointing. Falling to 1-3 this season, head coach Aaron Glenn expressed his frustration over the team’s shortcomings, particularly the amount of penalties that negated potential turnovers and the defense’s struggles against the Bears’ offense. “I’m very, very disappointed, on a number of different levels,” Glenn stated. “We all have to muster up something inside to get this turned in the right direction when we have a game like this.”
