"Being alive doesn't equate to being smart": Popular video captures teacher scolding student for supporting ICE agent who shot Renee Good.

Controversial Classroom Video Gains Attention

In the midst of the turmoil surrounding Renee Good’s death, a video from Becker High School in Minnesota has gone viral online.

The footage features social studies teacher Dr. Heather Abrahamson engaged in a heated exchange with a student regarding the shooting death of Good, a 37-year-old activist who reportedly obstructed immigration enforcement and struck ICE officer Jonathan Ross with her vehicle in Minneapolis on January 7.

Recently, on the show “Sarah Gonzalez Unfiltered,” Sarah analyzed the video alongside Ryan Walters, CEO of Teachers Freedom Alliance, discussing the intense politicization of teachers’ unions and alleged leftist indoctrination in schools.

In the clip, Abrahamson asserts that Officer Ross should have worked to calm the situation. “As a police officer, your job is to defuse tensions,” she insisted, gesturing towards a protesting student, who responded, “He had a moment.”

Abrahamson countered, “Look at the video! He was not in any danger,” which disregarded evidence indicating Ross was pushed backward when Good’s vehicle made contact, with multiple reports confirming he experienced internal bleeding thereafter.

“Just because you’re yelling doesn’t mean you’re going to win an argument,” the student argued, standing firm.

In reply, Abrahamson shot back, “Just because you’re alive doesn’t mean you’re intelligent,” eliciting applause from others present.

A clip of this encounter, shared by TikTok Libs, has amassed nearly 4 million views on X, sparking a fierce debate about political bias in education.

“This is a very pervasive problem,” Sarah remarked, showcasing a memo from the National Education Association that promotes heightened opposition to ICE.

Walters commented on the leftist activities infiltrating American classrooms, labeling it a “coordinated effort by teachers’ unions.” He stated that educators are being told to teach students to view police and ICE as adversaries.

Sarah highlighted a story about how the NEA—currently the country’s largest teachers’ and labor union—is channeling millions of dollars into various far-left causes during the 2024 fiscal year.

“In numerous locations, teachers are compelled to join unions and pay dues,” Sarah noted, expressing how it feels particularly offensive that funds are being used this way in the name of education.

Walters emphasized the urgency of dismantling these unions, urging teachers to opt out. “We need to defund them. Stop paying union dues that undermine this country,” he stated. He suggested legislators should act to diminish union influence, proposing a prohibition on teachers’ unions altogether.

“These unions possess immense power and resources, intertwined with the Democratic Party,” he added, warning of potential severe implications if they succeed in their initiatives, especially with looming elections.

He argued that the “real war” lies within education, claiming that teachers’ unions condition young people to adopt negative perceptions of America.

The viral video of Dr. Abrahamson criticizing a student for not condemning ICE officers—whom the student believed acted in self-defense—is just one example of a broader issue, Walters asserts.

“We need a complete shift back to patriotic education, fostering love for the country and American values,” he concluded.
