A Belgian man drove about 500 miles, hoping to meet his future wife, only to be shocked when he arrived at the home of French model Sophie Vose Road and found her husband, Fabian Butamine, was completely unaware of him.
After the long trip of 472 miles, the man, who went by Michelle, met Butamine, who was perplexed by the unexpected visitor. In a video captured during this encounter, Butamine expressed, “I have a guy who just rang my doorbell,” adding humorously, “I’m the present. There will be conflict.”
During their conversation, Michelle eventually conceded that maybe Butamine’s understanding was a bit off. “I think she did a dirty trick on me,” Michelle was heard saying.
Butamine, however, didn’t hold back. “My wife, no, that’s a fake account,” he cautioned. “You need to be very careful.”
Michelle revealed that he had sent $35,000 to someone impersonating Voselord, who is known for being a former Miss Limoucin and the first runner-up in the 2007 Miss France pageant.
Feeling emotional and confused, Michelle mentioned that the scammer had claimed she was pregnant but then said she had lost the baby. Butamine reassured him, “No, she’s still there, fortunately for us.” He continued to advise caution, noting that Sophie has a significant presence on social media and warned about the dangers of online interactions.
Eventually, Vouzelaud met with the visitor and tried to clarify the situation, expressing sympathy by saying, “This hurts my heart.” She advised Michelle to collect evidence and report the scam to the police.
A video Butamine shared on his social media has gained around 11,000 likes, though it remains unclear if a police report was filed regarding this scam.
In a caption accompanying the video, Butamine expressed his sadness for the situation, stating, “Beware of fake accounts. Share this video to show that it’s authentic and alert! Take care of yourself.”
Butamine and Vouzelaud have not responded to requests for further comment.
