Rumors of a romance between Ben Affleck and Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy began surfacing over the weekend, but a spokesperson for the Oscar-winning actor, who is in the midst of divorce proceedings from ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, insists the rumors are simply false.
“The rumors are not true,” Affleck's representative, Jen Allen, told Fox News Digital.
Earlier this week, multiple sources People Magazine Affleck and Kennedy, who have been rumored to be dating since early spring, are reportedly “spending time together.” Another source told the outlet that Kennedy, one of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s six children, has apparently always had a soft spot for Affleck.
“Ben has always been Kick's celebrity crush,” a source told People magazine on Monday.

Though he's reportedly not ready to take the next step just yet, Affleck seems to be doing better than ever.

In photos obtained by Fox News Digital, the “Argo” actor, known for sporting an annoyed look in paparazzi photos, appeared in good spirits as he smiled while accepting a food delivery outside his rental home in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Lopez Filed for divorce According to documents obtained by Fox News Digital, the couple filed for divorce from Affleck in Los Angeles County Court on Tuesday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.
The “Love Don't Cost a Thing” singer lists the separation date as April 26. According to court documents, Lopez also said that neither she nor Affleck want to receive spousal support.
Lopez filed for divorce on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding.

Affleck and Lopez met on the set of Gigli and became engaged in 2002. Affleck proposed and they planned to marry in 2004, but the wedding was called off at the last minute.

Rumors of their split began earlier this year, and after the two weren't spotted together for 47 days, whispers about the state of Affleck and Lopez's marriage took a dramatic turn when Affleck failed to attend Lopez's lavish “Bridgerton”-themed 55th birthday party. Birthday Party July 2nd.
Earlier this year, the documentary “The Greatest Untold Love Story” showed Affleck reluctantly dealing with the public criticism levelled at the couple, who first began dating in the early 2000s.

“Jen was really moved by the experience, and it's the same way artists work,” Affleck said. “They draw inspiration from their personal lives, and that moves people. And as a writer and director, I do the same thing. But I've always felt that the private things are sacred and special because they're private. So this was kind of an adjustment for me.”
In the documentary, they admitted they “just got overwhelmed” by the pressures of being a tabloid hit, which put a strain on their relationship and led them to call off their 2003 wedding three days before it was scheduled to take place.

“I had very strict boundaries with the press at the beginning, whereas I don't think Jen was as opposed to it as I was. I was very opposed,” Affleck said.
“When we got back together, I said, 'Hey, I don't want a social media relationship,' and I realized that wasn't a fair ask. It's like, if you're marrying a ship's captain, you want to love the water. We're just two people with different approaches and we're trying to learn to compromise.”
