Ben Stiller, Nick Offerman Join Kathy Griffin, Other Celebrities to Raise over $500k in ‘Comics for Kamala’ Fundraiser

Hollywood celebs Ben Stiller, Nick Offerman, John Stamos, Ed Helms, Tiffany Haddish, Ike Barinholtz, Mark Hamill and Rosie O’Donnell teamed up with Kathy Griffin and other stars for the three-hour “Comics for Kamala” Zoomathon fundraiser, which raised more than $500,000 in support of Kamala Harris’ presidential bid.

Hosted by comedian Paul Mecurio, the Zoom call featured a variety of guests, including Ben Stiller, Kathy Griffin, Nick Offerman, Jon Hamm, Cecily Strong, and even politicians like Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.). One particularly talked-about moment was when Nick Offerman sang his own interpretation of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” and called former President Donald Trump and J.D. Vance “freaking weird.”

“So I’m proud to be from Kamala, who left the Republican Party, ’cause I can’t just follow a man who’s been tried for 34 felonies,” he sang.

“And I’m going to stand up proudly and face the fact that the guys I once rooted for are a bunch of far-right white supremacists… yeah, those guys are really weird,” he added.

Other celebrities, like Ben Stiller, have also focused on abortion, using his own daughter as an example.

“[Kamala] “I’m going to fight for a woman’s right to choose. It’s very important,” Stiller said. “I have a 22-year-old daughter and I know it’s very important to her.”

Saturday Night Live’s Cecily Strong focused on J.D. Vance.

“Vance sounds like every guy who called you a bitch on Bumble combined,” Strong quipped. “Vance is confusing because his rhetoric is trying to get us to panic about immigration, but his eyeliner is trying to get us to panic about disco.”

“It’s wrong for Trump to continue calling him Eric,” Strong added.

Kathy Griffin, who famously showed up holding a photo of President Trump’s bloody severed head, also made an appearance.

Actor Ike Barinholtz (World History Part II) called on industry professionals to visit battleground states and volunteer for the Harris campaign.

Ken Jeong (the hangover) and longtime Trump rival Rosie O’Donnell were also in attendance to promote Kamala Harris’ campaign.
