Best cities for Gen Z workers revealed — did yours make the cut?

They should stay away from big cities and be quiet.

New research identifies the best locations for Gen Z workers. These regions mainly have two characteristics. There are no people and it’s cold.

Report from Background check company Checkr We’ve found that many small population centers in the frigid regions of the Midwest and Great Lakes region are great for young adults ages 18 to 27.

Checkr looked at Gen Z’s unemployment rate, their rent-to-income ratio, the percentage of renters who spend less than 30% of their income on housing, and more.

In total, Fargo, North Dakota — Estimated population 131,444 people — was considered the perfect place for young people to start their dream job. The Minnesota-adjacent city was praised for its affordability and “entrepreneurial spirit,” among other top employment factors.

Further east, crappy Wisconsin has four population centers in the top 10: Oshkosh (No. 2), Madison (No. 5), Appleton (No. 8), and the delightfully pronounceable Sheboygan (No. 9). did.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, home of the University of Nebraska, came in 6th place, and the chilly Fairbanks University in Alaska came in 12th.

Still, Gen Z continues to dominate the Big Apple’s rental scene, even though they typically earn only about $57,000 a year. At least that’s the case with those who show up to work.
