Biden admin quietly clears away border wall parts for auction before Trump takes office

The Biden administration is reportedly spending its final weeks quietly clearing up unused southern border wall material for auction, a move that some lawmakers are calling the U.S. and characterized it as an obvious ploy to thwart President-elect Donald Trump's goal of securing the Mexican border.

Alarming footage taken by U.S. Customs and Border Protection shows scores of flatbed trucks transporting sections of dismantled steel walls near Tucson, Arizona, a hotspot for illegal crossings, the agency said. They estimate that the equivalent of half a mile of parts is removed every day. The Daily Wire reported.

“They're receiving it from three sections: Nogales, Tucson and Three Point,” the agent said on condition of anonymity.

After Biden's decision to halt wall construction and reverse President Trump's immigration policies upon taking office in 2021, these materials remained unused, resulting in undocumented immigrants and their companions crossing the southern border. The number of unaccompanied minors has increased in large numbers.

Republicans say up to $300 million worth of taxpayer-funded wall components have been left to rust since Biden took office, accusing the Democratic president of worsening the immigration crisis. did.

Lawmakers now believe this effort to sell what's left of the wall — which the Biden administration also implemented last August — will undermine President Trump's plan to secure the southern border.

“The Biden administration knows very well that it should not have reversed border wall construction,” Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) told the Daily Wire.

“If that's true, they're intentionally undermining the next president, and it's no surprise why they're trying to convince President Trump to succeed with the policies they actively sabotaged. Do you want to see it?”

The soon-to-be 47th president has long maintained that border security will be a top priority when he takes office in January, regardless of cost. His plan includes restarting construction of a wall along the border and launching a mass deportation effort, first targeting people convicted of crimes.

“If President Trump comes back and tries to start the border wall all over again, the whole funding battle is going to happen again,” a Border Patrol official told the outlet.

“It's their game. He's going to have to fight again for this.”

The White House did not immediately respond to the Post's request for comment.
